Jen Strobel
Jennifer Strobel discovered her love of art at an early age. Working with mixed media collage and photography, Jen developed a discerning eye for detail and artistic expression that has carried throughout her every endeavor. In her early 20's, she discovered the vibrant and verdant world of horticulture and realized quickly that she could apply her skillset to the expansive palette of plant life and produce living, breathing works of art.
Following her passion from Chicago to San Francisco, she started her career with one of the top rated boutique nurseries in the Bay Area, Sloat Garden Center, in 2002. Jen has established herself as a go-to expert in areas of garden design, container design, event planning, and public speaking. She also initiated and established a Kids Gardening Club, and Planting Parties that have been wildly successful. Jen is a frequent seminar speaker on various topics ranging from drought tolerant landscapes, indoor plants, edible gardening, companion planting, succulents, and terrariums. She has been interviewed on "View from the Bay" numerous times, has appeared on "Live with Lisa Quinn" (a national show) demonstrating how to design plants in containers, led a garden series for the San Francisco Conservatory, is quoted in local papers as a garden expert regularly, and has delivered virtual education sessions to various large corporations based in the Bay. Jen has a passion for making gardening accessible and not intimidating, teaching others to learn through experience, as she has. Whether it’s a large space, or small container, she encourages you to enjoy gardening, and can help you along the way. |
